Selling questions
Do you buy watches outright or take them on consignment?
Outright only. We make a firm cash offer, and once you accept and the watch is in hand and authenticated, you are paid in full. We do not consign watches or list them on your behalf.
What watches are you looking for?
Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin, vintage preferred though we consider modern references too. For Rolex: Submariner, GMT-Master, Explorer, Daytona, Datejust, Day-Date, Cellini and Oyster Date, especially original, unpolished examples with unusual dials such as tropical, gilt, Buckley, ghost and factory diamond dials. For Audemars Piguet: vintage Royal Oak and dress references. For Patek Philippe: Calatrava, Nautilus, Ellipse and complicated references. For Vacheron Constantin: vintage dress, Overseas and 222 references.
Do I need the box and papers?
No. Box, papers, hang tags and service records add to the offer, but most of the watches we buy come without them. Original condition of the watch itself matters more than the accessories.
What photos should I send?
In natural light: the dial straight on, the case from the side showing the crown, the caseback, the bracelet and clasp, and any box or papers. A photo of the reference and serial numbers between the lugs helps, but is not required for a first offer.
How is the offer priced?
On the specific reference, dial variant, originality and condition, benchmarked against recent private and auction sales. Because we sell to collectors directly rather than through a marketplace, we can pay more than most trade-in programs.
How does payment and shipping work?
Once you accept an offer we send a prepaid, fully insured shipping label. After the watch arrives and is verified, usually the same day, payment is sent by wire or check. In the Austin area we can also meet in person.
